Nowy album Ayreon ukaże się 28 kwietnia i będzie nosił nazwę "The Source". Arjen Lucassen, mózg całego przedsięwzięcia, bardzo słusznie ma w środowisku muzycznym opinię człowieka, który przywrócił do łask klasyczną rock operę. Podobnie jak w przypadku poprzednich wydawnictw Ayreon, tak i tym razem na płycie nie zabrakło znakomitych gości. Na "The Source" można będzie usłyszeć takie sławy jak: James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Simone Simons (Epica), Floor Jansen (Nightwish), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Tobias Sammet (Edguy, Avantasia), Russell Allen (Symphony X) oraz instrumentalistów takich jak Paul Gilbert (Mr.Big), Guthrie Govan (Asia, Steven Wilson), Ed Warby (Elegy, Gorefest, Hail Of Bullets) czy Mark Kelly (Marillion). Sam Lucassen tak opisuje swoje najnowsze dzieło: "O ile "Theory Of Everything" (2013) był zdecydowanie progresywny, o tyle "The Source" nazywam albumem stricte rockowym. To rzecz o wiele bardziej gitarowa, przez to zdecydowanie cięższa, niż moje poprzednie wydawnictwa. Utwory pisane są w bardziej konwencjonalny sposób, melodie są niezwykle chwytliwe, co czyni ten materiał zdecydowanie bardziej przystępnym, niż np. ostatni album".
